No One Watching….

flagSometimes the camera doesn’t always catch “the moment”. It was the end of this gentleman’s day. Pretty warm in San Juan even this late in the p.m. and like everyone in a hurry to get home this “taking down of the flag” could have been rushed. Could have been  another in a series of things to do before I can go home. It wasn’t. The man pictured lowered the flag slowly, deliberately, with respect and dignity. I had the feeling this wasn’t his first time handling the Stars and Stripes. The neat thing about it all – no one was watching. He did it alone. Character is hard to come by. Even harder to photograph. A special moment.
